Vedanta Aluminium Introduces New Wire Rods for Power & Transmission
Vedanta Aluminium, India's leading aluminium producer, launched a new series of wire rods targeting the power and transmission industry. This announcement came during the Cable & Wire Fair 2023 (CWF2023) held in New Delhi.
The product lineup includes the T4, AL59, and the 8xxx series. The T4 alloy rod is optimized for high-voltage transmission grids and optical fibre composite overhead wires due to its high strength and durability. The AL59 alloy rod offers an enhanced strength-to-weight ratio and improved power transmission, making it ideal for long-lasting cables and conductors. The 8xxx series emphasizes anti-corrosion properties, catering to sectors requiring durability.
Additionally, Vedanta offers a wide range of Electrical Conductor (EC)-grade wire rods and sources some of its technologies from global leaders like Continuus-Properzi (Italy) and Southwire (USA).
