Fife Aluminium Expands Production with New Glenrothes Facility
Fife Aluminium and Metal Company, a specialist in architectural aluminium and metal products, has more than doubled its production space by relocating to Glenrothes. Founded in 2016 by Dale Robertson, the company has moved from its original location in Lochgelly to two new units within Queensway Business Park, significantly expanding its capabilities.
The move comes as a response to increasing demand for the company’s products, which include fascia and soffits, cladding and pressing, rainwater systems, and vision skylights. Dale Robertson, who has over 30 years of experience in metalwork, recognized the need for expanded facilities to accommodate the growing order volume. The new space also features product displays, allowing customers to view offerings firsthand.
Now operating with a team of five, Fife Aluminium plans to expand further by recruiting additional sheet metal workers. The new units provide 150% more floor space, enabling the company to handle more contracts and improve efficiency. Dale noted that the relocation has also facilitated the establishment of an on-site showcase of their craftsmanship, with every product custom-made, manufactured in their workshop, and installed by the team.
Dale Robertson expressed gratitude to Business Gateway Fife and Fife Council’s Employability Team for their support throughout the move. “The transition to Glenrothes has allowed us to increase our capacity significantly. I’d like to thank Business Gateway Fife and the Employability Team at Fife Council for all their help during this process. They made the transition much easier,” he said.
The company received assistance from Business Gateway, which provides various services on behalf of Fife Council. Catherine Bartle from Business Gateway offered Dale personalized guidance, including support for a net zero application for a portable extraction fan and funding for HR administration support. “It is great to see Dale move into the bigger premises. His knowledge and reputation for supplying high-quality products mean he is constantly in demand. I was delighted to support him through this transition,” Bartle said.
